Youth Windsurfing Day Camp

Registration Opens April 1

Youth CampWeek Long Windsurfing Day Camp

TWC offers an excellent fun-filled day camp for windsurfing enthusiasts ages 12 and older.
Our certified staff will teach your children windsurfing skills in a fun and safe environment. New to windsurfing, skill improvement or going for that competitive edge, TWC will provide a positive atmosphere for learning. All our instructors are CYA (Canadian Yachting Association) certified, as well as having a valid CPR and First Aid certificate. The coach boat is operated by a Toronto Port Authority licensed driver.

TWC Youth Camp offers three, 1 week windsurfing camp sessions throughout the summer from July through August.

Camp runs daily from 9:30am to 4:00pm. There is a 1 hour window before and after camp to drop off the campers so that parents may get to and from work.

Lunch TimeYouth Camp session dates for the 2011 season are as follows:

Session 1: July 25 - 29
Session 2: August 22 - 26
Session 3: August 29 - September 2

Cost:  $180/week per camper. 
This includes TWC membership and the opportunity to participate in other club programs.

The camping experience includes:

  • Dry land training
  • On water practice
  • Safe boating education
  • Understanding wind and weather
  • Rigging and de-rigging
  • Sailing knots
  • Tacking, jibing, points of sail
  • Fun games and activities
  • BBQ
  • Friendship t-shirt exchange & fun race

TWC provides windsurfing equipment yet it is recommended that campers bring their own life jacket and water shoes for proper fit.

Camper Benefits

Each camper receives full TWC membership status once their Youth Windsurfing Camp experience has ended. They will have the opportunity to join in all regular TWC programs such as:

  • Learn To Windsurf program
  • Practice Sessions & Equipment (usage fees apply)
  • Wednesday Night Racing
  • Mammoth Marathon
  • Racing Team

Enthusiastic campers age 15+ are also encouraged to become windsurfing instructors. They will be given the opportunity to further improve their skills in preparation for taking the windsurfing instructors course offered by CYA, a qualification that may help when seeking summer employment.

2011 Youth Camp registration forms will be available by April 1.
