The Protips schedule has been merged with TWC "TIPS" Schedule.
New this season. "TIPS" This is members helping members based training with tips of all kinds from rigging to lowwind/highwind strategies. The schedule for this will be posted at the bulletin board in the clubhouse and at our website. Check it regularly to see what's new. If you are an experienced windsurfer and would like to help with this, please contact twc_tips@torontowindsurf.com.
We will start with a quick on land session with drills out on the water. It is free to members and aimed at your intermediate sailor who may be just getting into the harness, or may never has got feet into footstraps etc.

Here are some very good online tips from our very own "Duke Duyck"
Duke Duyck, TWC's Instructor Emeritus was head instructor for over 10 years at TWC. He has personally taught over 400 students. During this time he has seen windsurfer boards evolve from long- boards to their current shorter wider early planing designs. Duke will talk about the Pros and Cons of these designs. There will be a short Q&A after his talk. He will be showing tips on the simulator and in the water following that.

Our very own "Olympic hope-full" David Hayes: Youth racer, was here on Saturday Sept 2nd, 12:30 pm 2006 at our "Tips from the Pros".
David will talk about his summer windsurfing training program from across the country and around the world. Feel free to ask David questions about windsurfing and how to get started in racing.
Ian Mathews, TWC's Racer, Youth coach and freestyle expert was here on Saturday August 19 and Sunday August 20th, 12:30 pm 2006 at our "Tips from the Pros". Ian started windsurfing when he was 5. It was at the age of 12 that he first began to race.
Over the years he has won many awards for racing including:
Ontario Championship three times (2000, 2002, and 2003)
TWC trophies three times (2001, 2002, 2003)
He captured the title of Canadian Youth Champion (2001, 2002) and Canadian Formula Champion (2004)
Ian has also coached the Canadian Youth Team (including our own David Hayes)
For many years, on light wind days he has practiced light air freestyle as a hobby.
Come learn how to have fun when the wind isn't howling.
Bill Quantock, enthusiastic windsurfer and TWC Club trip organiser, was here on Saturday August 12, 12:30 pm 2006 at our "Tips from the Pros". Bill will tell you how TWC'ers often travel to Hatteras, North Carolina, for some of the best windsurfing at an affordable price.
Murray Mccaig, Olympic Windsurfing Racer was here on Saturday July 15 12:30 pm 2006 at our "Tips from the Pros". Murray will giving racing tips from novice "how to get started in racing" to expert levels "how you get to the olympics". He will be available for a question and answer period following that. Dan is currently one of the instructional editors for Windsurfing Magazine. He writes instructional articles and tips for them as well as test boards for the gear review, when he is not teaching high school in Dundas, Ontario.

Windsurfing has taken him to many great places around the world, but one of his favourite spots is the Gorge, Oregon. This is where he spends his summers, and will be off there very soon.
