Storage Information (Please Read Carefully)
Storage slots are intended for one board and one rig only. Please be courteous and ensure that equipment does not spill into adjacent slots or extend into the aisle. TWC trailer captains monitor the containers and will remove any equipment that is inconveniencing other members.
Security is the responsibility of all storage renters. Please ensure that containers are locked at the end of each day or as appropriate.
TWC does not insure stored equipment. We recommend that you insure it with your own insurance agent.
When equipment remains in storage beyond the paid term which expires
every year on April 30, TWC will make two attempts to notify the owner by e-mail and /or by phone. If there is no response, the equipment may be moved to temporary on site storage.
If there is still no response 4 months after first notification, TWC may choose to dispose of the equipment.
No storage fee refunds can be made after May 1st.
Members may sell their storage spaces to current TWC members provided that the trailer captain has been notified and contact information for the new occupant is received.
TWC ‘Policy’ for Those Storing Equipment
1) Please, do not over-load your slot.
2) It is suggested that your equipment (sail bags, masts and booms, and if possible boards too)
be labeled with your name, slot and trailer number. (Eg: Smith 6N,T5). If you don’t want the labeling to be permanent, use duct tape. This labeling will really help.
3) Use the rafters for storing longer masts only, no sails or booms. And please, don’t hang wet wetsuits on the rafters to dry. There’s very little circulation in the trailers, and all that happens, is mold.
4) Please remove the fins from the boards unless they are small, and not interfering with others.
5) The aisles need to be kept clear. If you use a container of some kind to hold small bits and pieces, please ensure that it fits completely within your slot, not in the aisle. (Actually this is a safety issue) .
6) Wide (75+ cm) boards are getting to be a problem. In the trailers these wide boards are difficult to get by, especially when they are found on both sides of the aisle. Until we have a better solution, we will try to have these wide boards stored on the left side of each trailer. This will mean that some people may be asked to shift sides. Your cooperation will be appreciated.
7) Finally, an attempt will be made to have a trailer clean out day at some point early in the season. This may be difficult to coordinate, but the trailer captains will make an attempt. Please lend a hand.
For the benefit of all, the trailer captains will be asked to take a more active role in trailer management this season. However, it’s really up to each member who stores equipment to do their share.
