Local Sailing - public launches located WEST of TWC:

Conestogo Lake, Cambridge (wind NE,NW)
map
2 hours West of Toronto between Elmira and Listowel, this narrow lake streches 6km in NE and NW directions. Parking, washrooms, food and other amenities typical to Grand River Conservation Area campsites. Access fee applies.

Hamilton Harbour, Hamilton - Lake Ontario (wind SW,W)
map
Best launch site for the Harbour is Canadian Center for Inland Waters (CCIW). Coming from Toronto - get off QEW before the Skyway and take Eastport Drive; follow along the shore of the bay. Before the lift bridge, turn right into CCIW and park at extreme north end of parking lot. Great for SW and W winds. Tricky launch from large concrete boulders covered with algae. Not for novices, you must waterstart!

Lake Erie (wind SW)
Launch from Sideroads 18 and 26, East of Port Colborne at Wainfleet and further East at Long ;Point, Port Dover, Turkey Point and Rondeau. West of Port C, sail at Waverley, Thunder Bay, Sherkston, Crystal Beach, others; Some beaches are totally sandy, watch out for rocks at others. Totally worth the 90 minute drive if it blows; big swells, starboard ramps and rideable waves. This place can rock!
