Local Sailing - public launches located EAST of TWC:

Frenchman's Bay, Pickering - Lake Ontario (wind NW)
map
Just East of Toronto off White's Rd. in Pickering. Take White's S from 401 to Oaklahoma, E on Oaklahoma to West Shore and West Shore S to Spit road. Park on a sandbar separating a small, warm bay and Lake Ontario. Can be gusty but is pretty convenient. On a Southwest or East just launch from the other side of the sandbar.

Richardson's Beach , Kingston - Lake Ontario (wind SW)
map
2.5 hours East of Toronto; also frequently windier than elsewhere and chosen for '76 Olympic sailing events, rigging area, enthusiastic locals. Foot of Emily Street beside Kingston Yacht Club.

West Lake, Sandbanks - Quinte (wind SW)
map
2.5 hours East of Toronto; often windier than elsewhere due to thermals generated by the sand dunes; shallow water warms up early in the season.
