On Thursday March 30th a small group of volunteers gathered at the club ready to welcome the newest additions to the Toronto Windsurfing Club. Last year was so successful, that we completely sold out of our available storage slots. Thanks to the efforts of Jon and Janis Matthews, we were able to buy 4 additional trailers, 3 of which were now being delivered. With the volunteer help of our members who came out on Tuesday and Thursday, we were able to prepare the footings for the 1st one, the new LTW trailer, which is now located beside trailer #3 on the east side of the property. We actually got lucky when the trailer arrived 1 hr. late, because it gave us time to clear out the old LTW trailer, as well as the old trailer #7. It got pretty crazy there for a while, especially when Tom needed to leave for some ‘hospital’ attention. Yes, he did return later after a long ‘non-life threatening’ hospital stay, and we know how long that can take. In spite of Tom’s absence, we were able to get the LTW trailer’s equipment supports built and the equipment back in. As well, we located the new #7 and the new #8 and managed to build the #7 equipment supports so that all the members’ equipment could be returned safely to their slots. It was a great day thanks to the volunteer efforts of a small but hard working group. With the addition of trailer #8 which is already beginning to fill up , we can now accommodate members’ requests for more storage space.
A special thank you to all who helped out!
